Spend the day exploring one of Georgia's oldest cities, Mtskheta, and learning about the historical and religious monuments that can be found in this UNESCO-listed museum town.

The tour begins with a 20-minute journey from Tbilisi to Mtskheta, which served as the historic capital of the Eastern Georgian Kingdom of Iberia and is still the seat of the Georgian Orthodox Church. We'll stop by the local flea market before heading to the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers, which is home to the 11th-century Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. The Jvari Monastery, set atop a hill across the river, will be our next stop. We'll be treated to stunning views of Mtskheta and its hilly surroundings as we learn about the monastery's rich history.
